Abstract

Four scientific papers, published in the first quarter of 2013, are here briefly summarized: (i) sub-optimal start and outcomes of peritoneal dialysis. Report from the French Peritoneal Dialysis Registry (RDPLF); (ii) impact of icodextrin on clinical outcomes in peritoneal dialysis: a systematic review of randomized controlled trials; (iii) laparoscopic versus open peritoneal insertion of the catheter for dialysis: a meta-analysis; (iv) a case of fulminant sclerosing peritonitis presented like an acute culture-negative peritonitis and successfully treated with corticosteroid therapy.
