A job encounter, occurred 30 years ago, with a practitioner (some years ago I used to be a pharma rep) is the chance to discuss different types of communication control in doctor-patient relationship. The article presents four models of doctor-patient relationship: paternalism, consumerism, mutuality and default. Four steps to encourage mutuality model in the clinical encounter are listed.Downloads
