The doctor’s role in the holistic vision of health

Abstract

 Instability in the more recent years has made us more aware of how interconnected climate issues and human health are. We can no longer ignore the development of a holistic vision of health, based on the integration and collaboration of multiple disciplines, in order to protect the health of people, animals and the ecosystem. If it is essential to foster prevention and treatment - and consequently health - what the role of the doctor will be must still be defined. The authors interviewed two doctors from different generations, at first sight distant, but in close proximity with their views and belief that, if we are all responsible for the environment, perhaps doctors are even more called to action.
