Publication fees
Journal of Circulating Biomarkers is a fully open access journal which receives no public or educational funding. All editorial costs are covered by article processing charges (APC) and they contribute to enable free access to published contents, of which the authors retain copyright. Publication fees contribute to cover the costs of peer review administration and management, professional copyediting, typesetting of articles in PDF and additional formats, dissemination of published contents and other operations typically connected to publishing. There are no submission fees, or fees for rejected articles, no page charges or colour figure charges. Some items are published free of charge.
By completing a submission, the submitting or corresponding author, on behalf of all co-authors, agrees to our Open Access policy and confirms that upon acceptance the publication fees will be paid upon acceptance. After acceptance, the article will be assigned to a production Editor and the corresponding author will receive a licence to publish and a payment authorization form, both to be signed and returned in order for publication to continue.
Publication fees are based on sections:
Review, Original research articles and Clinical trial protocols
Euro 1500 (+ VAT as applicable)
Points of view, Video articles, Images explained, Short communications and Case reports
Euro 750 (+ VAT as applicable)
Publication fees may be paid by the author, the author’s institution, or their research funder. The prices quoted do not include any value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or other sales taxes. Tax may be charged in addition to the price shown if required by law. If you have a tax identification number, please provide this when requested.
Discounts and APC waivers, as indicated in the Waivers and Discount policy, will be accorded to corresponding authors based on the affiliation provided at submission and supported by an institutional email address. To ensure that editorial decisions are never influenced by ability to pay, Editors are not involved in correspondence with authors regarding payment of APCs.
Article published in this open access journal will be released online under the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial CC-BY-NC 4.0 (CC-BY-NC 4.0) license, which allows third parties to re-use the work without permission as long as the work is properly referenced and the use is non-commercial. Re-use for commercial purposes is not permitted.
