Stefania Gori is the head of the Cancer Department of IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don CalabriaHospital, Negrar di Valpolicella (VR), Italy. She specialized in Internal Medicine and in Medical Oncology. She is the past President of Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM) -from 2017 until 2019- and past President of AIOM Foundation-from 2019 to 2021.
From 2020 to date she is President of ROPI, the Oncological Patient Italian Network. ROPI brings together patient associations to:
- support the needs and requests of cancer patients in institutions;
- provide "certified information" to patients, caregivers and citizens;
- offer "specific training" to patients, aimed at their inclusion in the Regional Oncological Networks, in the PDTA, in the drafting of clinical protocols, in the Ethics Committees.
From December 2022 to date she is President of AIGOM, the Italian Association of Multidisciplinary Oncological Group. AIGOM's objectives are:
- promote multi-professional and multidisciplinary updating and training events;
- collaborate with the Italian Regional Oncological Networks and with their Working Groups;
- collaborate with the regional and national health institutions (Ministry of Health, AGENAS, Istituto Superiore di Sanità) so that the regional oncological networks and multidisciplinarity are active throughout the national territory.
She is the coordinator of AIOM Breast Cancer Guidelines and Principal Investigator of many industry-sponsored clinical trials and non-profit studies.
She is active member of several scientific societies, including AIOM, the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and authored amore than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Gori is launching a call for papers about observational studies, case report, novel approaches to prevent and treat cancer.
The manuscripts can be related to drugs, new toxicities of new drugs, surgical interventions, lifestyles and new organizational models in oncology, with particular attention to the multidisciplinary and multiprofessional aspects of cancer patient management and to the activity of the Regional Oncology Networks.
