Special issue on wearable devices and mHealth: regulatory and access issues  

Call for papers

Scope
Digital health (DH) solutions include diverse categories of products: mobile health (mHealth), health information technology (IT), wearable devices, telehealth and telemedicine. The use of DH spans form prevention, to early diagnosis and better disease management. They favour patient empowerment, strengthening their role in disease management. Digital health is expected to improve outcomes and enhance efficiency, but it has raised issues in terms of clinical development and regulatory path, assessment and appraisal, procurement and appropriate use.

This special issue is focused on mHealth and wearable devices, including digital therapeutics. In particular, we invite to submit articles on this topics:

- Issues in Clinical Development
- Outcome measurement and Health Technologies Assessment
- Price, reimbursement and procurement strategies
- Patient support programs integrating mHealth/wearable devices and services to patients

We invite authors to submit full research papers, systematic reviews of the literature and points of view (including case discussions) referring to both the international and the domestic arena.
